Tonight we will have 2 Speakers from Youth Programs that we have been supporting for a number of years now,

Candy Kuruppu &  Nikita Stokker Practice Lead, Youth Outreach Team & acting Youth Outreach Coordinator.

They will share with us:-

1. Overview of Youth Projects and their programs
2. Case Study by Youth Outreach Program
3. Some of there challenges are and see where Rotary can assist/work together

Incoming President Regina will give us all a chance to input on direction whilst sharing her ideas for the year ahead.

What have we been doing all year? Our committees will share their stories and efforts for the year, any impediments and what we might aim for in the next year.

We may not be many but we get a lot done. Should be an informative and interactive meeting. See you there.

We will be in for a beautiful night of fellowship and fun. Sorry Tony, but you will get roasted!

Tonight we welcome our new President who has an exciting schedule for us and a passion to go with it. 

Regina would like to focus on Marketting and Membership tonight and needs all our input and enthusiasm to get the year off to a great start. Hopefully you can come for dinner before the neeting starts to enjoy some good fellowship.

2 Great speakers tonight. We get to hear about Rotary in action & how we can continue to help service in 2 of the 7 arms of Rotary.

Ella Saunders, our RCE Ryla 2021 participant, who then went back in 2024 as a leader.  In 2021 she was a first year student at Melbourne University science course.  She will shortly be graduating.  So it’s a good story.

Lolou Kini is from the Caroline Chisholm Society which is an accredited and registered community service, providing a broad range of supports with a focus in the specialised area of working with women and their families to promote and enhance early childhood and parenting outcomes.Established in 1969, the Rotary Club of Essendon has been giving assistance with their programs over the past 20 years.

By special invitation come and hear from Melanie Gill, CEO of Helping Hands Mission, with whom the Rotary Club of Essendon has supported in the past.

The Helping Hand Mission  supports people doing it hard throughout Victoria, especially Melbourne's North-West, with Community Food Pantries, a Community Kitchen at Airport West, Material Aid with household furniture donations and variety of Op Shops.

RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) is a series of practical and powerful workshops that aim to change the way young people think about road safety. As part of an interactive one-day experience, students experience braking at different speeds, devise travel strategies that will work for them in the real world and get tips from road safety experts on how to protect themselves, their friends and family. Perhaps the most impact comes from the personal stories of loss and survival.

Dictrict Governor Peter Shepheard will visit the club on Tuesday 16th September.                                              

Peter grew up in a family that volunteered with numerous groups which led him to volunteer from an early age. His involvement with the local Basketball Association introduced him to the Rotary Club of Altona where he was invited to join in May 2003 and has served as president four times and in nearly every other role in thec club. He served as Assistant Governor four times and was affectionately known as "the Man in Black"  for  stage managing successive District Conferences.

He combines his skills in administraion, project management and customer service as part of the team that manages the historic Queen Victoria Market where he has been since 2013.                                                                 

Board will meet with him at 5:00 pm, Dinner as usual at 6:00 and Presentation at 7:00 pm.

A vital part of today's communications is to have a mobile phone, especially for survivors of domestic violence. Isabella Villani from DV Safe Phone will explain how donating a mobile phone via a network of over 400 agencies is lifesaving to these survivors.

Growing each year in stature and reputation, the Moonee Valley Art Show provides a fantastic opportunity for established and aspiring artists to exhibit and sell their artwork.
