By special invitation come and hear from Melanie Gill, CEO of Helping Hands Mission, with whom the Rotary Club of Essendon has supported in the past.

The Helping Hand Mission  supports people doing it hard throughout Victoria, especially Melbourne's North-West, with Community Food Pantries, a Community Kitchen at Airport West, Material Aid with household furniture donations and variety of Op Shops.

RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) is a series of practical and powerful workshops that aim to change the way young people think about road safety. As part of an interactive one-day experience, students experience braking at different speeds, devise travel strategies that will work for them in the real world and get tips from road safety experts on how to protect themselves, their friends and family. Perhaps the most impact comes from the personal stories of loss and survival.

Dictrict Governor Peter Shepheard will visit the club on Tuesday 16th September.                                              

Peter grew up in a family that volunteered with numerous groups which led him to volunteer from an early age. His involvement with the local Basketball Association introduced him to the Rotary Club of Altona where he was invited to join in May 2003 and has served as president four times and in nearly every other role in thec club. He served as Assistant Governor four times and was affectionately known as "the Man in Black"  for  stage managing successive District Conferences.

He combines his skills in administraion, project management and customer service as part of the team that manages the historic Queen Victoria Market where he has been since 2013.                                                                 

Board will meet with him at 5:00 pm, Dinner as usual at 6:00 and Presentation at 7:00 pm.

A vital part of today's communications is to have a mobile phone, especially for survivors of domestic violence. Isabella Villani from DV Safe Phone will explain how donating a mobile phone via a network of over 400 agencies is lifesaving to these survivors.

Growing each year in stature and reputation, the Moonee Valley Art Show provides a fantastic opportunity for established and aspiring artists to exhibit and sell their artwork. 

We expect this year's Art Show to be bigger and better so please join us to for this exceptional cultural experience.  
All profits are used to help the Rotary Clubs of East Keilor and Essendon to implement community projects.

Come and hear about one of the most important scourges of present day society. The statistics are very confronting.

1st Club meeting for the New Year

Guest Speaker Kevin Nolan and Duck Race Committee report

Kevin is the current president of our daughter club,   the Rotary Club of Keillor  He has been a member the club  for 40 years.   He is well known to some of our older members.

Kevin has run his own business in the Security and Communications industry for 44 years.  He is now semi retired but still looks after his existing customer base. 

Tonight Kevin is going to talk to us 

about the path  the Security  industry is taking especially with regard to alarm and CCTV systems.  

The Bistroteca located at the Reggio Calabria Club 476 Brunswick Rd, Parkville, Vic. 3052 is a family friendly Italian restaurant serving traditional Italian cuisine from all regions of Italy prepared from generational and traditional recipes and ingredients. We will experience authentic Italian food from Pizza topped with the freshest red sweet onion, peperoncini chillies, broccoli, spicy sausages, stewed tomatoes and aubergine.   Enjoy a 4 course, Italian curated plentiful delicious set menu in a traditional Southern Italian style.  Music and dancing will also be available.   Cost will be $64.00 per person and drinks extra at bar prices.   It will be a great night to begin our Rotary fun times in 2026 and we will require a minimum of 40 attending to confirm our booking.
