Project Rainbow is a joint project of the Rotary Clubs of Essendon and the Rotary Club of Leeton Central with Baha Tuluyan in the Philippines and generously funded with $50,000 from the Rotary Club of Balwyn's Centennial Grant. Further funds have been contributed from the Direct Aid Programme of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines.
Baha Tuluyan is a DSWD-accredited NGO with 35 years of working with Philippino children.

Project Rainbow is to convert a donated but dilapidated house in Lima Batangas into an eco-retreat for children surviving trauma and will provide accomodation, dining and meeting space for up to 25 people. Baha Tuluyan also has experience in organic farming producing fruit, vegetables, honey, pepper and coffee to sustain the operations of the camp.
So far the site has been prepared, septic tanks installed, external walls and roof installed in the main building and now the roof and walls of the meeting room are in progress. To be accomplished is to finalise the structural work, install electrics, plaster, paint & tiling before completion. This will then be a safe place for children & families to access programmes that will aide recovery from various forms of trauma.

Generous thanks to the Rotary Club of Balwyn and their Centennial Fund which has allowed this project to proceed.
